Time for a break

After publishing over 420 articles (not including the Friday compilations) regularly over the last five and a half years, it is time for me to take some time out from writing. An average of 1.5 articles a week is a level of writing I never thought I would sustain, but here we are.

This is definitely no goodbye, so don’t shed a tear imaginary person at the other end of the computer screen!

Instead of a regular weekly or fortnightly schedule though, I will just be posting when I have something I feel like I want to say. I hope to continue sharing Friday’s collection of articles from what I have read or listened to, but will likely shift to a monthly schedule of those posts.

I have a massive catalogue of articles covering a wide range of finance topics, that it is hard not to repeat yourself.

But the main reason for the slowdown is that in the next weeks, my family will be making the move into our new build house in our new community 750km to the north. We don’t know anyone in town. Our oldest daughter will be starting school, and our youngest son pre school. My wife also looking for some work.

We want some time to ourselves to find our feet. Meet some locals. Explore the area. Get settled with school and work. Work on the house – in particular setting up a fruit and vegetable garden that will sustain us for many years. We want to make an effort to meet the locals and form some new friendships. Social connection is a huge part of a contented life, and we are moving to an area where we know few people. This time is for working hard on ourselves to give ourselves every chance of success in our new location.

Who knows, maybe I will get back to regular scheduling once we have found a pattern in our new lives.

Feel free to reach out as I am still providing financial advice and regularly monitoring emails.

Until next time.
